Community Cleanup of Downtown, Herald Dispatch, 5-5-2011

Herald Dispatch 5-5-2011

The “Adopt Your Block” Litter Gitter project has been going strong since 2008. Richard Cobb and James Bowen have worked hard to get people interested in cleaning up their neighborhoods, writing articles, using their website, and visiting “Chat-n-Chews”.

There are over 3100+ members, each participating in a variety of ways. Some take on the responsibility of doing weekly or bimonthly clean-ups of their block, using “Adopt Your Block” provided litter sticks. While others participate in one of several annual clean-up days throughout the city. Everyone believes in keeping their community clean, in civic pride, and doing their part to create the Huntington everyone loves to live in.
